A wri file is a text document created with Windows Write, a basic word processor that came with early versions of Windows including Windows 3.1. This file object may contain page formatting and styled text information.
On its structure Windows Write is similar to the newer Microsoft WordPad application, which is currently bundled with the Windows operating system. Some older versions of Microsoft Works can also open WRI-files.
