The lit file is an electronic version of the book or other publication, which is stored in Microsoft LIT format. Includes information about digital rights management (DRM), which protects the rights and restrictions of the operational systems, able to recognize each of the books.
The LIT files are being used for improvement of the readability of Microsoft ClearType technology.
