The 1st file is a text readme file, which is sometimes embedded into installation distributives of the software packages. Contains important information about the operability of the app. The 1st extension is used in such a way, that the users are aware about the necessity of opening the text readme-file before primary running of the application.

The 1st files are not used as broadly as the names readme or readme txt.
