The cbz file is a comic book extension which is created in the Comic Book Zip (CBZ) format. It stores a variety of graphical files, commonly PNG or JPEG files, arranged into the pages of the comic book. CBZ files are similar on the structure to CBR files but use compression based on the ZIP-mechanics instead of the RAR algorithm.
CBZ files can be read via a multitude of variable comic book viewers. You may also decompress CBZ files with an archiving utility and view the composite graphical objects manually. Nevertheless, the extracted images may be ordered incorrectly.
